Celtics Beat Ironmen Again (12/2/46)

Guess the only way the Boston Celtics are going to get victories this season is by beating the only team as bad as they are, the Pittsburgh Ironmen. In a total snoozefest, the Celtics pulled out a victory by jumping out to a 23-15 lead. They still led 34-31 going into the fourth quarter and held on to win the game. Al Brightman was the hero again as he pumped in 12 points to be the Celtics leading scorer. Harry Zeller scored 11 for the Ironmen and Press Maravich had only four points. It wasn't pretty but the Celtics won their third game of the season with a 46-44 victory over the Ironmen at Duquesne Gardens.

Basketbawful Report:

Virgil Vaughn didn't play for the Ellison.

Hero of The Night is Al Brightman. He scored 12 points to lead the offense in a two point victory.

Final Thoughts:

At least the Celtics can beat the Ironmen. That was one of the worst games of the season with nobody being able to shoot well but hats off to the Celtics defense for able to hold Pittsburgh to just 44 total points. The Simmons brothers scored a combined 9 points while Wyndol Gray scored just 2.  Art Spector returned after a three game absence to hit a free throw so at least he's back in action. Three nights from now the Celtics look to beat a team besides the Ironmen when they come home to face the Detroit Falcons. Good luck to the Celtics.
